Azwood Expertise Endorsed
Brook Brewerton, of Azwood Energy, has been announced as a Bioenergy Association-registered wood energy advisor.
On confirming Brewerton’s registration, Bioenergy Association, (BANZ), Chief Executive, Brian Cox, noted Brewerton’s registration, “with endorsement for fuel and fuel handling”, reflects his optimisation of specific wood fuel systems across several high-level projects.
“Such registration is important for the industry as it gives clients confidence and assurance that advice, they receive comes from someone with relevant project development expertise and understanding of wood energy systems,” said Cox.
Notably, Brewerton has assisted in the delivery of many successful wood energy projects, most recently Fonterra Brightwater’s co-firing with wood chip for process heat. In the proof of concept stage Brewerton, along with other key Azwood Energy team members, developed a portable fuel blending system for co-firing that is available for trial across New Zealand.
Brewerton said the Bioenergy Association endorsement was another indicator of the professionalism and expertise held within Azwood Energy. “Our organisation has been fuelling energy systems for 40 years. Throughout that time, we have always been client focused and solution focused,” he said.
Manufacturing and supplying all grades of wood energy fuel sets Azwood apart, as we specify fuels that suit energy systems and client needs without favouring one fuel. This is one of the reasons, organisations seek out Azwood for trusted technical advice, backed by Bioenergy Association accreditation.
Our priority is successful, economically viable wood energy systems that meet client needs.”
Bioenergy Association-registered wood energy advisers have expertise in balancing fuel type and grade with equipment design and have demonstrated professional conduct, experience and knowledge. They are bound by a Code of Conduct and are required to undertake continuing professional development to keep up-to-date.
As the only supplier producing the entire range of specified wood fuels, Azwood Energy plays a strong role in the wood fuel sector, being instrumental in working with the Bioenergy Association in the development and implementation of New Zealand standards for wood fuel supply.
Azwood Energy is also a Bioenergy Association-accredited wood fuel supplier, which indicates quality assurance in production processes, storage and delivery of wood fuel, implementation of appropriate fuel quality testing methods and positive customer references.
The wood pellet fuel manufactured by Azwood Energy is certified to an international standard, ENplus® A1. This certification followed audits investigating production and operating processes and quality management. ENplus® A1 guarantees Azwood’s pellets meet rigorous standards.
The wood energy chip and biomass hog fuel are produces under the same quality management systems and adhere to international ISO standards.
